My teaching style
I focus on slower-paced Hatha with elements of Yin mixed in, prioritising sustainable movement to support everyday living and counteract the movement patterns that are so common in our modern lives.
No huge ranges of motion or crazy poses, just simple, supportive movement designed to help you reconnect with your body, rest when you need to, and leave feeling grounded, refreshed, and more at ease.
You’ll be guided with clear, supportive instructions, and always encouraged to listen to your body and move in a way that feels good for you.
I care deeply about creating a friendly, non-cliquey space where everyone feels welcome, regardless of experience or ability. More than anything, I want you to feel at home in your practice, free to explore yoga in a way that feels meaningful and supportive of your life, both on and off the mat.
My yoga journey
My yoga journey started around 10 years ago when I found Yoga with Adriene on YouTube. I was looking for a way to stay active and combat my very desk-based student lifestyle. I loved yoga immediately. Not only did I feel stronger and more connected to my body, I also felt calmer and more present too. I couldn't believe that exercise could actually be fun and enjoyable.
It took my years to build up the courage to go to an in-person class, I was so nervous that 'real life' classes would be really competitive, and that I wouldn't fit in or be able to keep up with the teacher. Luckily I was wrong. Practicing alongside others, wobbling together, laughing and supporting each other made me love yoga even more.
Yoga has become a way to ground myself, reconnect to my body, and find stillness when life feels overwhelming. It’s taught me to be kind to myself, to give myself grace when there’s something I can’t do, and most importantly, to not take myself too seriously.
That’s what I love most about yoga - that it’s a deeply personal and non-competitive practice that meets you exactly where you are, not where you think you should be.
"The productivity conditioning engrained in our minds makes us look at our Yoga practice as one more target to accomplish & one more crown to wear. What if we saw Yoga as a steady support in our life's journey, something that is light, enjoyable, simple & therefore, sustainable?"
